I am a Latvian, living in Amsterdam for the last decade. En ja, ik spreek ook Nederlands :)

I came to the Netherlands as an au-pair, while having a year off before studies. Long story short - fell in love with a man, with the country and stayed up to this day. The first love story didn't work out so well, but I am still very much in love with the Netherlands and am proud to call it my home.

After a year of babysitting, I went on to study International Communications Management, but as I soon realized, I needed something more challenging as a study and switched to International Business Management. 

​

Meanwhile I started working in hospitality and I loved it! Loved the dynamics, the team work, the guests, the unpredictable future, the organization and the self development. In few years I moved on to the next hotel, with a promotion, and worked with students as my team for a fine dining restaurant. 

​

Soon enough I had a chance to return to Accor, this time in one of their key properties and took the chance. It is a very dynamic environment, with a big team, very unpredictable flow, lots of challenges and sweet victories. In short, I was overseeing 3 restaurants, a bar and lobby shop operationally, coaching, mentoring, scheduling  and evaluating the team, making sure administration was filed correctly, recruiting and onboarding new members, setting up new sales projects, giving trainings on various topics and when necessary helping with washing the dishes, if the dishwasher was broken :)

In my free time I love to take on new projects as well. Whether it's setting up a webshop, making fine dining dinner for my friends, remodeling dining room, throwing a party, learning some coding or taking a mindfulness class I'm in!

At the moment I am looking for a wild new challenge for myself aligned with my interests and values - tech, growth, team empowerment and enablement. 

 I have my sleeves rolled up and am ready to jump in!
